Anna Leigh Ashford

Annaleigh Amanda Ashford, an American singer-dancer and actress. Her early appearances on Broadway included in productions Wicked Legally Blonde and Hair. The Tony Award was given to Ashford for her performance as Essie Carmichael, in You Can't Take It With You. Annaleigh has worked on projects with award-winning director, actors and producers for most of her professional career. Ashford will next be seen starring opposite Kumail Nanjiani as part of the Hulu limited series Welcome to Chippendales from creator Robert Siegel premiering on November 22. Ashford is currently filming for Searchlight Pictures' horror thriller Dust with Sarah Paulson and Ebon Moss-Bachrach. The film will stream through Disney's DTC platforms, as well as Hulu Original. Ashford is set to return in 2023. He will be starring opposite Josh Groban at the Lunt-Fontanne Theatre to perform the revival of Stephen Sondheim's Sweeney Todd. Thomas Kail as director and Jeffrey Seller as producer will be the creative team for the show. Ashford appeared as Paula Jones most recently in Ryan Murphy FX's American Crime Story Impeachment, based off the scandal which included Paula Jones Monica Lewinsky Linda Tripp in the nation crisis. She starred in two seasons of popular CBS comedy B Positive. The show was written by Marco Pennette, Chuck Lorre and Linda Lavin. The show also had Ben Vereen and Elizondo. Additional Broadway performances includes Sunday in the Park with George Wicked Legally Blonde and the lead role in Lauren In Kinky Boots a performance for which she received another Tony Award nomination. Her birthplace and childhood was in Denver Ashford now splits her time between Los Angeles and New York.
